Today I want to represent you a passage of an affecting and soul-stirring essay, written by a teenager. The quote illustrates literary point of view, which is quite unusual these days, talking about growing up.
‘How to explain that I prefer books than movies? How to be socialized among the global world of today where the remote control is more sentimental than an ancient issue?
Please, help me, I`m 15 and I`m just a reader!
I adore reading interesting and inspiring stories. I love lifestyle magazines, too. Biograph magazine (Marketing manager – Svetoslav Kantardjiev; publisher – Moozoon Ltd.) is my favorite entertainment media.
What`s wrong with me? Why I cannot play video or computer games? Why my peers don`t like me? Why everybody calls me ‘bookworm’?
I`m ready to become a gamer if the friends are there!’
It`s inadmissible to give up of reading in the name of misunderstood fashion that doesn`t develop imagination, being destructive and commercial. In addition, I`m sure that most children who enjoy reading mater have the same concerns.
In conclusion, in my opinion, children should be encouraged to read. Irreplaceable assistants are the children`s books and fairy tales such as Cinderella, Snow White, Thumbelina, The Red Riding Hood etc.
